Sunny ☀️ You Must Visit This Medieval Seaside Castle 🏰
✅ This medieval-style castle is located by the seaside, and it's a must-visit on a sunny day. The architecture is like a picture frame, adorned with beautiful views of the sea.
Nowadays, the castle is open for ticketed tours, priced at $10 per person. On weekdays, the price is $20, but when we went, a few rooms were closed, so it was slightly cheaper.
✅ The owner of the castle, John Hays Hammond Jr., is not only a designer and collector (the castle houses a large collection of his paintings and artworks), but also an inventor and scientist (he was a pioneer and inventor in remote control research, known as the "Father of Radio Control," with over 400 patents).
✅ The castle was personally designed by him. In addition to the architectural design that allows for views of the sea, the interior is also worth exploring because it houses many of his collected artworks. However, the castle can be visited relatively quickly. In the center of the castle, there is also a small garden filled with greenery, making it a great spot for photos.
✅ It's a 50-minute drive from downtown Boston, and about ten minutes away from the castle, you can also visit Manchester-by-the-Sea, which is the filming location of the movie with the same name. Here, you can take some photos at their train station and the beach where the male lead often visited.
